Steve Jobs devoted his life to give us the most powerful device ever available to an ordinary person - the personal computer. It is one thing to miss someone, to feel a void that they are gone, its another thing to do something with their legacy, to honor them through your actions, wrote the famous author Seth Godin in his blog after Steve Jobs died. With this post-it art portrait we wanted to honor Steve Jobs with our action and inspire others to also take more action. 9 people created it and it took us about 6 hours to complete. We used 4001 post-its in the size 51x51cm in yellow, green and blue. We were lucky that the portrait remained at the Apple Store in Munich almost a week and it was featured in newspapers, blogs and television shows around the world. Thanks to Michi, Chris, Andreas, Kathi, Richard, Sandra, Jiannis, Fabian, Jenny and all the people that posted little messages and shared fotos on facebook, twitter and their blogs.
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path.” - Steve Jobs
We would have never thought when we where posting this portrait, that this was an business opportunity but we believed that somehow the dots will connect.
